The pain.
I had said expect a cheerful post-vacation update on Thursday morning on my last post. This will neither be cheerful nor done on Thursday for a good reason; I AM A CRIPPLE!!!!!!!
corvenus and I finally decided to head off to Saint-Sauveur for our vacation. We checked into the cutest B & B I have ever seen and rented the suite. It had a queen bed, seven windows most of which gave a view of the mountains, a small living room area, and best of all a stunning bathroom equipped with heated tile floors, two place Jacuzzi bath and a wall of mirrors!!!!! I was sold the second I saw that marvelous bathroom.
We spend three wonderful days shopping, eating at good restaurants, taking walks around town, and sunbathing. Yes, thats right, I said sunbathing! On our second day we checked into the Bagni spa. You had to warm yourself up for 20 minutes in a Jacuzzi, sauna, or Turkish bath before plunging yourself into a half frozen stream. It had such an unusal effect. After coming out of the cold water the weather fealt like summer! My body seamed to think It was 24 degrees outside. So my man and I spent most of the day on lawn chains outside in our bathing suits
On our last day of vacation we decided to take our crazy carpets out and go sliding down a small ski hill which was closed on weekdays. I was having the time of my life re-living my youth with corvenus . We made a picnic at the top of the mountain so we would slide down, walk back up, eat a little, slide back down, and repeat. Once the sun started going down we both decided to take one last slide before leaving
Here comes the sad and painful part
Almost at the bottom of the hill let my carpet drag me on a 360, I was sliding back first and did not see a large block of snow in front of me
I slammed back first into in, flying up in the air, and falling back down onto my right side/ shoulder blade. The wind was completely blown out of me on the first impact, and the second one just floored me. I was writhing in pain, screaming even though I could not inhale any air. I was so scared, scared I had broken something, scared I was about to pass out in an unfamiliar town with no Medicare card on me, and mostly scared that I could not breathe and that I might have an asthma attack as soon as I could.
My man came running and drove me back to the hotel. I was in sooooooo much pain. I have only cried of pain once or twice in my life, but this was one of those times.
My accident was Wednesday, I just managed to get up out of bed and out of my apartment today (Saturday). My doctor said nothings broken, I should not have an permanent damage, but it will be painful for quite some time.
Fortunately all my friends (especially my boyfriend) have been a big help.
But I dont know if Ill ever go crazy carpeting again
Here is the evil contraption that caused mt injury!!!!!!!!!
