I have a tattoo apt on the 13th. I have two things I have been mulling over and I thought I would ask around a group in the know:
1. What is the general guidline for a tip for your artist? For instance, is it an hourly thing? Is it a how happy you are with the piece thing? Is it a percentage of the session or overall price thing?
2. Has anyone ever heard of a time limit on a session? I'll explain. I have 3 5 hour sessions for my back piece. I have been told that one should not sit for a single session longer then 3 or so hours because there is a reaction that happens in the body that causes the ink to reject. I am going to be spending close to 2 grand on this thing, so I am a little worried. On the other hand, it is an artist of a high reputation who has done this on a friend on of mine, who I am going to call tonight, so I can't imagine him not knowing about this.
Any info is much appreciated!
