I have sat down three times to do this update, and always managed to get distracted!
Anyway, thanx to ll of you who came out to my birthday party! It was awesome and made me feel really special amd loved. I especially want to send ooodles of love and hugs to thise who pitched in to bring me the best present ever: MY BOI!!! I was totally surprised and it was awesome.
Funny thiing is, I have been asking around to see who knew, and it looks like a bunch of people, like 10 or so, knew he was coming up and I talked to most of them and they didn't let the secret slip! I am curious, though, ecaxtly how many of you knew he was coming up before the 10th and how long did you know? I have the best friends EVER!!!!
Many of you know I bought a new car on my birthday because the ol' black bug was starting to need more work on it then I could afford. I got a really good deal on trade-in as well as interest rate, no money down, and a sun roof! I got a 2004 New Beetle, silver with black interior. They have made lots of sweet upgrades in little places I am psyched about. and I got a sun roof, after wanting one in every car I have owned. Only downer, so far, is that they couldn't transfer my CD player from the old to the new. So now I just have to either make mixed tapes, or put my portable player int he car. NO biggie. I can always buy one and have it installed.
Some of you also know the story of how I bought new vanity plates in Sept, not knowing they expired in NOv and that it would cast 75$ EVERY year to renew them! The things they don't tell you on the website where you order them are outstanding! So I didn't figure this out until I got a ticket at the end of Feb. (mind you 6 MONTHS after getting the plates) for my plates not matching my resident parking sticker. *grr* I got two of those, I need to contest. SO I go to traffic and parking and tat is when I see the expired reg, standing in line, then the lady tells me I can't get a new sticker because my reg is expired. I told her it mush be a typo, since it was only 2 months. But no, have to go to the DMV (I refuse to call it the RMV Mass is the only state that does) in my ILLEGAL car in watertown mall. Wait in line there to have a big fat black man very rudly and condensendingly tell me basicly that I was a moron that that it MUST say it on the website when the plates expire. What do i ned to do to get it back legal? Give him $75 that I don't have in my pocket (I don't carry my checkbook) or even in my account and they don't take credit cards! GGGRRRR!!!!! So I start tryig to figure out how I am going to affod this unexpected thing when I barely get by now tht we get paid every 2 weeks. I gamble a little and put it off a little. I take it in the have some work done, take it in again because the problem still not fixed, and realize it is becoming a money pit, so buy a new one. OK, just wait it out, new car coming Friday or Monday, new reg, new plates, ok, home free. But no new car either day. Truck still on its way. Then wham, they towed my car Monday night when I decided not to go to Ceremony. $155 bucks in cash (luckily I randomly had it) to rescue it from Pats and have them tow it to Boston VW so I could TRADE IT IN ON WED!!! Pick up the new car on Wed, nice, got new stuff, got new sticker, happy! Yayy!! End of it all! Nope, get home and have a $100 citation in the mail for parking an unregistered vehicle in a public way. I should have borrowed my roomie's parking space in the back, I guess. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the other ticket I got when I was using the guest pass after my sticker expired end Feb for "Resident using gust pass". So not having $75 that day at the DMV ended up casting me $255 dollars, plus possibly $90 more if I can't get the tickets dismissed. Moral of the story? Keep your vehicle LEGAL at all times.
