Thursday is at last upon me, as I'll be climbing into that plush black chair for 2 1/2 hours (again) to receive my second tattoo! The first being a rather nice rendition of Ares...the second will follow suit and be another Greek god, either Hermes, Hades, or Poseidon.
But the image I am banking on inking is one of Icarus, because it'll always remind me that while the sky is my playground, I must remain humble in my passionate pursuits, as arrogance will be my downfall. But seeing as how I haven't found any illustrations of Icarus that call to my interest, that specific tattoo will likely come to fruition at a later date, once I converse with the artist (the awesome Bob of Ink N' Um in Calumet City, IL) about a custom Icarus creation. Until then, I'll be coin flipping to decide between the other three. Will post pics!!! Until then, SG maniacs......

I was brought up in a devoutly religious home so even though I'm now an atheist I still have a real interest in the Bible. The Israelites were Semites so their beliefs fall under that broad umbrella of Semitic mythology. All the Semitic religions shared things in common like a flood story, God defeating a chaos monster in order to create the world (Yahweh killed Leviathan), or some sort of cosmic holy mountain where you could stand and commune with God. My interest lies more with how Semitic mythology influences many religious beliefs today.
