Yoga today! Woot tongue

I gotta admit how grossly underestimated that meditation device sounded from a distance, prior to last week. Movies and television shows depict yoga as this harshly quiet session of prolonged sitting poses and moderate-to-deep belly breathing, with a little visualization thrown in, and glazed over with some euphoric release of relaxation. But man oh man, that's not how I perceived it this...

I could never get into Yoga. I love breathing exercises and meditating, but Yoga never helped me center myself the way I wanted it to. I jog and paint for that. biggrin

I've managed to avoid being audited as well.smile I did yoga for a brief time and all it did was make me feel like a wimp. I'm looking at all these girls holding these poses and I'm shaking all over from exhaustion. Of course I'm 6 feet 200 pounds so I don't know if that makes it harder, but yoga really is a great workout especially for all those muscles that don't get worked in traditional workouts.

I'm a big fan of Camaros also. I really want the silver and black Challenger in my neighborhood, though. love

Thursday is at last upon me, as I'll be climbing into that plush black chair for 2 1/2 hours (again) to receive my second tattoo! The first being a rather nice rendition of Ares...the second will follow suit and be another Greek god, either Hermes, Hades, or Poseidon.

But the image I am banking on inking is one of Icarus, because it'll always remind me...

I was brought up in a devoutly religious home so even though I'm now an atheist I still have a real interest in the Bible. The Israelites were Semites so their beliefs fall under that broad umbrella of Semitic mythology. All the Semitic religions shared things in common like a flood story, God defeating a chaos monster in order to create the world (Yahweh killed Leviathan), or some sort of cosmic holy mountain where you could stand and commune with God. My interest lies more with how Semitic mythology influences many religious beliefs today.

So today was the day that I finally knocked a pestering monkey off of my back...one that's been looming over my head for the past year: I crushed my NCETMB exam! Thankfully on the first try. And while "crushed" is a slight overstatement, it does feel as if I made that exam my bitch! biggrin (Nanananana!!)

Ever since I had graduated from school in February 2012,...

Somehow a mere "congrats" seems inadequate, but there it is.And don't I know that feeling... you create behemoths in your mind that turn out to be just moths after all ;-)
nebuchadnezzar:
I'll just ditto what kaicito said. Cangrats may seem inadequate but congratulations anyways. smile

Not one solitary day passes that I haven't felt grateful about finding my life's vocation. It's been a little over one year since I've first gained employment as a massage therapist, and an additional eighteen months prior to that for schooling. Needless to say the journey thus far has been extremely rewarding, if not short. Already I have a steady base flow of regulars who...

Thank you! I'll redouble my blood donating efforts, maybe sign in under three different names ;-) I feel more like a little guy in a rowboat that's tossed about by the waves, not a Sea Captain. But we'll see. It's just at my age I don't really relish the thought of "selling myself on the open market".

Just a quickie blog for today, since I'm stuck at work for the next two hours with nothing to do. (MEDITATION TIME!!)

Do you love The Walking Dead? Or pretty much anything zombie related? And does creative writing tickle your fancy? If so, I invite you all to come check out Ira Silenti, an RPG board that submerges you smack dab in the middle...

I know, it drives me crazy, but that's the world we live in so we can only hope with time it will change. I haven't done any RPG for a while but I might have to check that one out.

OMG...thank you sharing the link. That's awesome. I love Walking Dead. biggrin

T.G.I.P.! - Thank God It's Payday! I've been fiendishly cheap (on myself, anyways) these passing couple of weeks, trying to pinch a penny to the point it disintegrates between my fingers. I'm up to a whopping $1600 now for my car fund, and the pot is about to grow even larger with tax payday looming nearby. Being the bread winner of your family means taking...

"The first great thing is to find yourself, and for that you need solitude and contemplation: at least sometimes. I tell you, deliverance will not come from the rushing, noisy centres of civilization. It will come from the lonely places." - Fridtjof Nansen

This weekend has been a blessing, or at the very least a rewarding break from the hustle of life. Two days taken...
