I still don't like my job.
I am very much settling into the idea of moving within the next year...to a totally new place.
Would consider going far, far away but for Grace.
Am actually thinking of moving to get closer to her, and farther from my safety net.
I had to turn the hate for my boss down a little tho. She is moody...that doesn't help...but she brought brownies today, and it's hard to dislike anyone who keeps me in chocolate.
I know there's been a thread for this...but I don't care what ALL of SG-land has to say...just the cool kids that make my friends list
What song(s) would make the soundtrack of your life? Your personal them song or songs?
ooh, and for bonus points..why?
Mine is still in the works. I know without a doubt that Radiohead's "Creep" would be on there.
Because it seems I'm usually looking up at the world..
because I DO wanna have control, a perfect body and soul..I DO want her to notice when I'm not around.
because she IS fucking special, and I wish I WERE special.
But the soundtrack as a body of work, would be full of ups and downs. Highs and lows...slow, dirge-like wailings and subtle, moving symphonies.
at the end of the day, I'm still an optimist...so go out on an upbeat song. An overall theme of "I am not worthy of this life, I am awestruck by the beauty around me, and broken by the sadness"
Throw in some Eminem, cause he likes to throw that middle finger around too...
Ok, next to last piece of music in my life's symphony/soundrtrack....Beethoven's "Ode to Joy". The exact one from Immortal Beloved. It moves me.
Final track/movement would be a slow, haunting "Amazing Grace", on the bagpipes.
(note to anyone who might be in earshot of those planning my funeral whenever that occurs - I INSIST on having the pipes play as I'm interred. Please.)
hmm...I'll work on a definitive list...

OK, it wasn't the Jimmy Eat World one I was thinking of, it was Less Than Jake - The Science of Selling Yourself Short (though that one fits sometimes too, so it should be on the soundtrack).
Here's some of the science...
I've come to my senses,
That I've become senseless,
I could give you lessons on how to ruin your friendships,
Every last conviction, I smoked them all away,
I drank my frustrations down the drain, out of the way,
So I sit and wait and wonder,
"Does anyone else feel like me?"
Someone so tired of their routines and disappearing self-esteems,
[Chorus:]
I'll sing along,
Yeah with every emergency,
Just sing along,
I'm the king of catastrophies,
I'm so far gone,
That deep down inside I think it's fine by me,
I'm my own worst enemy
I would post lyrics to Legend of a Cowgirl but it's one of those songs you should really just hear. I'm sure it will be on the Christmas CD. And you'll be on the list.
And yes, if I'm ever acting all crazy, you are supposed to ask me if I've taken my 5-HTP. You didn't know there'd be homework on my friend's list did you?
And no, you won't ruin my Christmas. You are starting to work your way up to the first tier of friends who will be getting something waaaaay better than CDs.
