motherbitch!
When did they raise gas prices again? It seems to be under $2 a gallon ONLY when I have a full tank...it's back up to $2.11 again. Crapsticks.
So my boss was really nice again today, just sharing thoughts about divorce and parenting...very encouraging to me about me still being a very important part of Grace's life. Thanks boss. Sorry for thinking you were sorta evil early on.
I realized again this morning how much of an influence music has on my mood. With this new job, my drive in to work is a lot longer...and this radio-only shit was just putting me in a FOUL mood by the time I got to work. I HATE radio. Clear Channel has shit on everything radio, and will probably take over tv at some point too...and shit on that too. Pre-programmed, unoriginal flatulant ass-trumpeting is all it is.
So now that I have my new car, with the cd player..I get music (or Mitch Hedberg) the whole ride, and I am much happier, and the drive is much better. Thank you in-dash cd-player for improving my life.
Speaking of music. Am I the only one who selects music based on mood, or desired mood? Like, if I am feeling kinda grey...kinda melancholy, certain cd's are perfect for getting me right. When I'm angry, or hurting emotionally, certain cd's help to burn it out and get me back to human. I know my emotions, and the music to improve (or help wallow in) them.
For instance: Feeling blue, doubting myself, wanna just give it up. One of my all-time best cd's to cure this is Arrested Development's "3 Years 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life of--" album. Don't know why, but it's uplifting, spiritual, and mellowing. Mamas and Papas is usually good too.
Then there are some songs that I will always associate with certain people, or times in my life..and they will probably ALWAYS wrench my heart to hear them..or subconsciously darken my mood.
howbout you guys? what music helps you when you are blue? or anything else?
