Grand Junction, CO. We're not getting as far as I hoped to on this cross-country drive. Given a late start, having a dog, and just hauling a trailer, slows us down. I'm a bit stressed about getting back to NYC by Wednesday because of work. I still want to enjoy this trip. The conversations are always interesting.. mostly about our observations of people in social behavior. We talk more than we listen to tunes.. partly because we didn't bring any tunes with us. Seen some beautiful scenery.
I could just stare at the stars all night. For a Queens-boy, I'd describe it first like a planetarium come to life. Sure, eggs come from the grocery store.
It's kind of soothing to know the universe is so friggin' vast and we're fortunate to exist at all. Just one asteroid half a mile long and we'll be history. A pity for us humans.. but I know our grand ol' Universe won't be patting itself on the back anytime soon for having had us at all. It's wonderous to think why we shouldn't feel lucky all the time.
