Soooo..... I had a bit of an adventure the other night I'd like to share with everyone
Saturday night was a good friend of mine's bachelorette party. We rented a suite at a hotel, decorated and set up games. We went to dinner at Four Peaks, which is a nice little brewery in Tempe. Good times were has by all. Once we returned to the room, we began drinking heavily. This was partially due to my favorite party game: you cut out small strips of paper and write an "I never" thing. each person takes turnes popping a ballon, reading the statement, then anyone who has done the thing takes a drink, It's also a good way to get to know your friends a little better.
Next came the obligitory cheesy male stripper. It was cliche, lame, he did have a pretty body but it's just not that attractive to have crotch in your face, ya know? So we did that, then most of the girls left and the few professional drinkers in the group went to a few bars, the last of which a girl dropped a glass and a shard went into my big toe. I didn't feel a thing at the time but it was bleeding, so i knew it was cut. I said fuck it, i'll get it when i get to the hotel. Whilst getting dropped off at the hotel, i noticed i had 3 missed calls and 2 voice mails.
It was my maintenance guy, there was a break in the main water line in the apartment above me, and my place was flooded. He said i needed to come there . I am wasted. Fuck. Got a cab, got home and was greeting by my maintenace guy, who assured me they were almost finished. There was water coming down through the walls aparlently..... they were treating the carpets, but one of my little book shelves got soaked, my couch and most importantly half of MY BED was drenched down to the box springs.. bad. there was nothing i could do, so i sat on the bench outside and was just drunk, hanging out for awhile. Pretty soon i got sleepy, so i snuck into my place, got a pillow and proceeded to sleep on the bench outside... until around 4.30 am when the sprinklers came on and soaked one half of my body.. this is when my patience ran out. I went inside and slept on the dry half of my bed. the last person left my place around 5am
Since then, my apartment complex has assured me that there is no need to replace the carpet, that using dryers and a dehumibifier would be fine. the dryers are loud and the de-huimid kicks out a shitload of hot air. It's fucking annoying and it smells in here. just about everything i have read online says you should always replace flooded carpets and the padding due to mold growing and shit... I'm really not happy with the situation.. they came today to remove the dryers and shampooed the carpets,.... but they didn't move any of the furniture.. so the carpet under there is just fucked???? it's fucking shady, i'm so glad i only have 2 months left... this whole thing is ridiculous. i propped up my matress and used the dryers to dry it out, but a lot of my clothes were soaked, all my bedding, towels.......it's a hassle and it's draining my energy this week.....bleh.....
sorry to bitch but it's whats on my mind... hope everyones weeks are going better than mine!!
ps
