So after an uneventful couple of weeks I had the most awesome week I've had in a long time! Let's see I don't even know where to begin.
I'll start with work, after an extremely slow couple of weeks we had a good one this past week. Last friday we got a tip from an employee of Wells Fargo. Apparently this guy is a caretaker for foreclosed homes in the area. He called us and told us that someone was living in one of the houses he takes care of. There wasn't supposed to be anyone in the house. Anyway, we watch it for a little bit and were able to ID the guys living there. The caretaker came back to check on the house and asked to go with him because he didn't want to go over there if someone was there. So he lets us in the house and this is what we find....
All in all 31 bundles of marijuana weighing 681 lbs. Pretty good bust and DEA has taken over the Investigation so hopefully they can get some good busts out of the information we gave them.
A couple of days later I'm watching a house and sure enough we saw a vehicle leave pick up a load of Illegal aliens. Well we ended up getting the vehicle leaving the house when it went to drop off. Got a warrant and had our BORTAC unit (Border Patrols SWAT team) serve it. Ended up getting 23 more people out of the house. Not the most we've gotten out of a house but we got a warrant and got BORTAC to serve it so the Big Wigs like that.
Then on Thanksgiving day we were trying to take it easy when one of the guys saw a vehicle load up with illegals. We followed it for a little bit but decided we wanted to leave on time so we called a marked unit so they could just pull the vehicle over. Well When they tried to pull it over the guy decided he wanted to run. He started driving stupid of course so the units had to back off. We knew where he was going so set up with a spike strip to try and stop him. The agent who had the spikes missed. So we decided to let it be seeing how he was going back to Mexico. We let the Port know he was coming and they decided to try to spike him also. They deployed the spikes and the driver decided to just speed up instead of stopping. So when he hit the spike he lost control and wrecked. Three people in the car ended up going to the hospital. Luckily everyone was ok and were released after getting looked over. The best part was that we got the driver. Customs let us take over the case. I must admit no one wanted to stay late on Thanksgiving but we all decided this guys needed t be prosecuted so we stayed a couple of hours late to get it done. I cant wait to until Monday to see what had come of it.
So that was my exciting week at work.
As for my weekend it too has been great! I actually went to visit friends in my hometown of Safford. I hadn't been there to party or even just hang out in over 2 years! So it was nice seeing old friends I had a blast! I will admit though that although I was only there for one night I was ready to come home! It was fun and I missed hanging out with my friends from there but I was also reminded why it has been 2 years since I'd done that.
Then last night I not only got to go watch Cheech and Chong perform live but I also got to watch Boondock Saints 2! I thought I was going to have to drive to Phoenix to watch it but its actually playing here in Tucson. So now I have football to watch and beer to drink today before it is back to work on Monday!
