Summer seems to have officially arrived here in the UK! There are aspects about each of the seasons that I love, but I had forgotten how much I love spending summer mornings in the woods with my beautiful dog, Luna.
I'm lucky enough to live in an area where we have lots of wonderful, almost wilderness-like destinations for hiking, walking and general adventuring, right on our doorstep. It's so unbelievably quiet and peaceful deep in the woods that it sometimes feels like we're the only two living beings on earth.
Being in nature never fails to bring me a sense of freedom and peace - I well and truly embraced that feeling of freedom on today's morning adventure, and took the silence and seclusion as an opportunity to take a few semi-nude self portraits. If nakedness = freedom, and nature = freedom, naked + nature = ultimate freedom, surely?
At first, this was definitely the case - I felt empowered, peaceful and free as I set up self-timer mode on my phone and began to remove the orange denim shorts I was wearing for the morning dog walking in the woods. I've participated in on-location photoshoots in the great outdoors before, but these have always been well-planned out and (in the event of nudity) with strategically placed look-outs to keep an eye out for any onlookers or passersby. Although our morning was taking place in a well-known dog walking location which we visit at least a few times every week, I very rarely encounter any other people there, especially in the early hours of the morning, so I was fairly confident that I wouldn't give any unsuspecting dog-walker or hiker an eyefull... or so I thought 🥴🥲
So, picture the scene - I'm in the woods, shorts down, phone strategically balanced in self-timer mode, booty on the loose, living my best life - when what only can be described as a rabble of hikers/serious walkers appear down the foot path as if from no where. I'd like to be able to report that I maintained my cool and was unphased by their sudden appearance - but I jumped out of my skin, whipped my shorts up as quick as I could and began pretending to be looking for a stick to throw for Luna. 🤦♀️
I exchanged polite but awkward "good morning" greetings with the hikers as they passed me, received a few strange looks from some of the members of the group and then they were gone as quickly as they'd appeared. I am a socially awkward person as it is, and at first I was cringing so hard at the events that had just unfolded, but then I looked through the photos I had taken and just burst out laughing at the whole experience - and decided to share the moment with you all! Enjoy these blooper shots of the moment I saw the group of hikers and hurriedly tried to pull up my shorts! If you've made it this far into my first full-length blog post on my Suicide Girls page, thank you so much for reading! I hope you've enjoyed seeing/reading about my morning dog walking adventure which turned into a hilarious moment. I hope you have a wonderful day! ❤️✨️
