Oh man, what a week. First Syd Barrett dies, and then Weezer breaks up. What the fuck? Weezer is one of those bands that I've always wanted to see, but anytime the chance came up, something would happen and I couldn't go. Now I'll never get to see them. Dammit.

Losing Syd is a great loss to the world indeed. On the other hand, Weezer is one of those bands that will never stay away. Think about it. We had a 5 year gap without them once already in the history of the band. The bass player went on to do The Rentals who had an even longer break before getting around to another record. It may be a while, but I'll bet they will come around again when the time is right. They left us wanting so much more for so long, then came back and gave us about a record and a half too many, and it's time for a break. You know, it's also pretty cool to run across someone in this day and age who still likes Stabging Westward. They are awesome.
