I love the night-time landscape in this city. Even from my bedroom window in Boganville
There's something very peaceful in seeing only the streetlights, and stars, and the occasional glowing window. It says to me, all those things you gotta do, all that crap out there, it's all just a game - look up at the night sky, see the real universe.
And I love the fact that it takes nearly an hour for me to get the bus home from uni. After frantically finishing an essay and then rushing into uni to slide it under the lecturer's office door, it's nice to watch the twilight city glide past the window, while I unwind with my music in my ears and maybe a cute boy in the seat next to me
I keep telling myself that I have to move away from here, away from the memories, but I don't think I can ever leave. The places I hang out here - the shops and cafes and libraries and gardens and random warm sunny bits of pavement in the middle of the city
- are the only home I've had since I left my dad's house. So sorry, Melbourne, but I suspect you'll be deprived of my presence for just a little longer
