Cool hunting and the raping and reselling of counterculture ( SG on CSI new york anyone?)
This is one of the most informative specials on pop culture bullshit I have ever watched. Of course most of us grasp these marketing schemes on some level but this really gets into specifics that shed a whole new light on just how huge it is. I SO highly recommend you take the time to watch the video clips in this link. If not all at once then one by one as you get the time. If I had tons of money I would fund media awareness classes at all age levels throughout public schools. I think its an issue thats addressed far too late in life (ie. college) when it really should be touched on as early as elementary school in my opinion. Know that the people talking at you have an agenda and what it is and how to think for yourself. WATCH. highest recommendation possible!!!!

PPS. October is domestic violence awareness month. Educate yourself and take action. 16 women and children in the county I work for died this past year alone as a direct result of domestic violence.

It may be sad but the first thing I thought of after watching this was "Which marketing exec fucked up when they thought bringing back the 80's trend of spandex leggins under skirts would sell their product".
