So here's a good news/bad news story for ya.
On a whim I decided to go about town and look for an apprenticeship at a tattoo place. I found a good place on Vegas Blvd. I talked to the owner who wouldn't give me an apprenticeship based on my artistic ability (or lack there of). HOWEVER, walking into that shop was probably the BEST decision I've made in a long time! He spent what seemed like almost an hour critiquing my work and giving me some of the most useful advice I've ever gotten. He told me that as far as my work goes, the concept is there, but the realism and technique is not. I need to work on shading and adding detail and realism to my work. He gave me some ideas, like getting a golf ball, putting a light on it, and drawing it. Every single dimple. I need to procure a golf ball.....

He even said I could come back in a week or so for another critique once I've drawn some more stuff up. I most definitely will!
