Now I've never been the kind of person who bites the hand that feeds but enough is enough. Cumulus Broadcasting and Pirate 95.9 the station I have busted my ass for since May of 04 you have turned your one happy employee into a bitter pissed off employee. I started with Cumulus as a intern and worked my way up through all the crap no one else wanted to do. I did everything that was asked of me. So where does this rant come from? I've copied and pasted an e-mail that my boss sent me monday morning :
Black Beard, Starting today 12/5 you will no longer be doing your on air shift live. Please pre-record your show. We no longer have the budget to pay you to do a live shift. If I dont see you before the holidays have a Merry Chirstmas
Are you kidding me?! The budget thing I understand and have no beef with that. Money isn't that important to me. My main beef with this is the fact that he couldn't tell me this in person, I see this guy everyday and his office is 5 feet from my cupicile and that he finished his e-mail with "Merry Christmas" which he spelled wrong. Here is another thing the hours I will now get paid for, which is the job I've been doing for awhile, is 4 hours of putting in traffic reports. Here is an idea Cumulus Broadcasting Pirate 95.9, have the interns that do nothing but sit around do the traffic reports and I do my show live. I would still get my 4 hours a day like you want, interns would get to do actual radio work like they want and I get what I want by being live on the air and trying to entertain the people listening. I loved being on the air for a couple reasons like letting people know about the artists, like where they are from and stuff like that but the main thing I loved about being on the air is if I can make one person laugh, that one person who might be having a bad day forget there problems for just a couple of moments then I know I've done my job. So much for having the only live and local rock station there Pirate 95.9. I'm not telling you to boycott or call the station. This is my beef (like its some big rap battle). Well enough with this rant. I had an awesome weekend full of Strippers (SORRY exotic dancers), Fun and Booze and that was just at my place. The next morning my neighbors just looked at me in awe at the fact that I came home with 3 dancers (details I will keep to my self) that didnt leave till the next afternoon. I now know what it is like to be a rock star well kinda. Wow that was a lot of typing.
Blackbeard959 fun fact: I used to be a really big prick, just another cocky hockey player. That changed after the accident and I wouldn't change what happened to me. I'm a better person because of the accident.
