Now that I have your attention...
No really. This is a story about my "pussy" and by that I mean the outer labia... the lips. No this is not a sexual story, so if you're trying to get your knob turned, this is no erotica, go back!
I, like many ladies, engage in countless hours of hair removal week by week. Shaving, waxing, tweezing, epilating, and trimming. And as a result of these, have experienced rashes, ingrown hairs, and scarring. ( Legs, underarms, bikini)
I have thick skin, and thick hair(I'm full bred Mexican and my hips don't lie ;]) and have been getting waxed for the last 2 years of my life. Hard wax to be specific. Obviously, still getting rashes, ingrowns, and new scars by the time my next wax appointment came around. I assumed this was the cycle I was forever doomed with.. some people just aren't that genetically lucky.
Then I was introduced to Sugaring.
At first I was hesitant because well frankly, it is a heck of a lot more expensive. My main concern was if it would be worth the extra dough. So naturally, I do my research. What is it? A hair removing technique using an organic sticky mixture of honey, sugar, and lemon that was boiled and then cooled to room temperature. Believed to have originated during the time of the Egyptians. (If you want I will pull up a Wiki or Google webpage and copy and paste but eh, why don't you go look it up then if you care so much!)
Anyway, it's applied to the skin in the opposite direction of the hair growth, and pulled in the direction of the hair growth. Typically when you're getting a wax, or at least when I am, the esthetician (waxer?) has to apply the hot/warm wax with a new wooden spoon each time, from a giant pot that is used for every client. And because of the thick hair, she applies it several times in the same spot, resulting in more skin cell removal and enhancing your risk of picking up bacteria..your bikini zone is pretty much a giant open wound. Not cool.
Now I've only read stories of people picking up staph infections after getting waxed and getting in a pool or sitting on something dirty. I am being overly cautious and paranoid I suppose. But I'd rather not find out. I have always hated the lack of activities I can do after getting my wax. I couldn't even wear panties for several days while the tender skin was healing, and myself nor my poor boyfriend could play with her while she was healing from the trauma.
Immediately after the Sugaring I was home letting my boyfriend make out with my freshly waxed lips ;]
The results don't lie one bit. And I've been made a firm believer.
No my ingrown hairs have not completely disappeared, but they're not out of control and leaving me with what looked like acne on my bikini, underarms, and legs. Giving me more of an opportunity to tend to my scars. She's never been prettier! They went from 80% to 15% and if that's too drastic sounding for you I don't care.
The esthetician has the same ball of sugar in her hand throughout the whole process. And tosses it when she's done. And I will admit the very first Sugaring I received was a bit uncomfortable but the second was remarkably and ridiculously so much easier! From the beginning of my waxing journey I was told that my hair should gradually get thinner and finer and just stop growing in areas altogether. And to an extent it did grow a bit patchy when it came back. After the VERY FIRST Sugaring, the patch where my landing strip used to be, has not grown back(May 21st first one, by my 2nd appointment on Jun 11 no hair in that area). The hair around it did, but so thin/fine that I couldn't believe it was mine!. I could hardly feel it!!
From what I was told, the hard wax typically just breaks thick hair near the root or just at the surface. Resulting in faster hair growth (meaning a few days after your wax you were aleady having hair's poking through the skin) and in my case, an opportunity for the irritated skin to heal over and creating a barrier that my growing hair could not break through, thus creating an ingrown.
Also NOTE: DO NOT USE BABYOIL IF YOU ARE PRONE TO INGROWN HAIRS. Instead only use coconut oil to moisturize your bikini and underarms after you exfoliate to keep them hydrated and protected.
Alright I'm done. But I'm hoping you decide to take a peek into what it is (If you're a lady or man interested in hair removal I mean haha) I'm going to start making my own mixture at home and practing on my legs! Eek haha.

I love when ladies share their beauty secrets.
