We've been having quite the discussion about the looming conflict in Iraq over on Milena's page (link above). Personally I think the war that Bush, Cheney, Rhumsfeld, Rice, and Powell want is complete and total garbage. When Powell went to the United Nations, he basically said if the inspectors find anything in Iraq, then we have to invade to disarm them. And if they don't find anything, then we must invade because they obviously are hiding something. What kind of chance for peace does that offer? Everyone in this country believes that we are just so superiour to every other country out there. If that is indeed true, why can't we act like it for once? After the attacks on 9/11, we bombed a country back into the stone age to toss out a government we held responsible and find the man we deemed responsible. I guess one out of two ain't bad. Where is Osama Bin Laden anyway. Does he even exist? I don't want his head on a stick. I want to know why he did what he did. That is what interests me. If we found out why a large percentage of the world hates us, that might actually lead to some progress. Didn't anyone ask why? The answer that they hate our freedom is bullshit. There's more to it than that. Once you find that out, then you can put his head on a stick.
There is a lot of hatred brewing world wide towards the United States. I think I have a pretty good idea why. It's not our right or responsibility to force others to think and act they way the USA does. The US is a bunch of bullies right now, and George W. is the idiot leading the charge (how many smart bullies have you ever met?). I don't hate the government because 'it's cool'. I hate this administration because it's tearing the world apart. We have no right to go into another country and bully them into what to do. The United States should never be the first one to use force. There is no war in Iraq right now. When Iraq invaded Kuwait, that was another story. Another country was being harmed by the military of another. It was our duty as a super power to intervene. Iraq isn't hurting anyone right now. Until they do so, we have no right to go in there.
