today October 4th, i celebrate my 3rd year of sobriety.
i think about everything that i did and saw and accomplished in my life over the last three years and it is really apparent to me that if i was still drinking, i would be no where near as far along in life as i am now.

my problems with alcohol and the numerous and horrible subsequent events that led up to me getting sober i wouldn't change for the world if it means that all the bad things i did and mistakes that i made eventually helped to get me here where i am today.

i love my life, my friends, my family, and i get to be an active participant in the world. sharp, focused, honest, positive and optimistic, dependable, and most of all sober.

thank you to my higher power for making it all possible, i am thankful to all those people i hurt throughout my period of madness who have found the grace to forgive me for my actions and ill mannered behavior, and i thank myself for finding the strength to get through the toughest of times and not fall back to drinking.
