I've got a headache. Most likely caffeine withdrawal...
Whenever I can, I like to have a "drug free day". No caffeine, no alcohol, no pot, nothing. I also try to eat really healthy on those days too, try to eat whole and organic foods. no fast food or processed foods.
I've been doing good all weekend, but I started to develop a headache this afternoon. I also slept most of the day, which is nice of course.
The bottom line is that drugs and processed foods are bad for you if you consume them on a regular basis. However, irregular and infrequence use of these things can bring a lot of joy into your life. I mean, whats more awesome than getting really stoned and gorging yourself on Taco Bell? Having drinks with your friends is quite the fun thing to do. I think its important to find a balance between these types of situations and good healthy eating.
I've been working my ass off lately so caffeine has been a big part of my day to day activities. I'm usually up around 5am and work until 6pm or so. In fact, it kind of feels like I'm working on my buzz all day. I do the same thing when I party, always keeping an eye on my intoxication level so as to keep things from getting out a hand.
I guess I just don't want to end up like my parents who have to drink about a pot of coffee each just to function every day.
In other news, I think I might be done working out at Fort Irwin (about an hour outside of Barstow) which is awesome because I have really hated working out there. I was staying in this shitty Ramada in Barstow that literally smelled like a port-o-jon that someone just smoked a cigarette in.
Plus, it was weird being on a military base again. I haven't been on one since I got out of the Navy. It was weird to be a long haired, unshaven and out of shape dude at the Exchange having lunch. When I was in the Navy, I was always watching out for officers and senior enlisted people to make sure I wasn't going to get yelled at for my shave or my uniform or something. Even in civilian clothes I would have to be careful of what i looked like so as not to invite some prick lecturing me about regulations. I suppose old habits die hard.
Life is good, my tattoo is healing nicely. It looks like I might be able to get in for more work next month
