he didn't invent it - I think he got the idea from some other guy before him. But he was an astronomer - and got put on house arrsest for saying that we reolved around the sun, and not the other way around - until the catholic church forgave him in 1990!!! Obvioulsy he died long long before then.

But according to the patent adverts - the hoover was invented by a cleaning person with a fan and a pillow case! The first one to market it properly, and it's yours!
