i just dont want to write but i need to vent again...
My awesome roomate and friend got arrested for not having proof of insurance a month ago. anyways, the charges were dropped. from then until now, he owes my father money for repaying him back from when he did not pay the gas bill for 7 months and did not have any money. my father was nice enough to lend him some cash but with the strick understanding to straighten his ways. well, that lasted about 4 months and then this happened. So I explained to my father that he got arreseted and could not pay. ok, pay me when he gets his next check. now a month later, another payment due and no payment for either. i had to remind last week, no payment, and again yesterday. I told him to leave the check on the counter and i'll even deliver it for him today. this morning...no check. so i called him and woke his ass out of bed and told him he had to drive it up here. he got all pissed saying, "thats going to be a problem b/c i have to work and then go pick up my car." (he got his car impounded a month ago when he got arrested and has still not gotten it out...read next paragraph for that problem.) tough crap man. not my problem. This is also not to mention that he owes ME money.
So his car was impounded. We play in a band together that is run by a music company. We have a company van that is used for gigs. Very nice, we just spent 1500 $ on it over the summer getting a nice paint job. So the co-owner with me, decided to give sam the van to use. I did not agree with this b/c my roomate always has things given to him. thats the way his parents are. they borrow other's stuff. my roomate has broken my guitars, amps, stereo, tv, computer, wine glasses, and the list can go on and on. I have learned my lesson. My co-owner has not. Well.......to make a long story short, my roomate TOTALED the van yesterday. He said it was not his fault but still, it happened. now, my co-owner has to waist his time and go to court to sue the other driver b/c they did not have insurance. I give up...
i have no simpathy for him at this point. I know that sounds bad saying that he is my best friend. but really...how much of a friend am i if I let him keep doing these things to other people's stuff. what lesson does that teach him. His mother always enables him, his friends enable him, my co-owner enables him. Enough is enough. Have him learn his lesson.
