Day after.
April 1st was quite boring. I think somewhere in the atmosphere, time shifted by a day.
This morning I read briefly that an old friend from my hometown had died. It was confirmed later that he'd been thrown from a car last night hoping to go to a different town, to a different bar for last call, when the driver missed a curb or something and flipped the car. Andy was thrown from the vehicle and died. The driver sustained a few injuries, the other passenger came out fine.
This was a person who was at first a complete asshole, then a strange acquaintence, and then a good friend, then someone who wanted much of nothing to do with me. People grow up. Andy grew up to a point, but then it's like he sort of stayed there. I don't know. I didn't know him as well as some others did. He was just... I don't know. I don't really feel anything about it.
A few minutes after that phone call, I got another phone call. A friend had just gotten in a car accident and it was totaled. A possibly stolen vehicle came out of what I assume was an alley, crossing lanes of traffic and hit a white car with such force that it spun around in the road and then collided with my friend's vehicle, smashing the entire front of it, crumpling it in.
Luckily for this friend, it happened near my apartment and so I was able to help. They only recieved a few cuts, hopefully nothing more, and the driver who fled the scene immediately left behind a bumper with license plate attached.
Like I said, lucky.
There are at least two birthdays today.
Life is strange.
