I'm curious.
How much value do you put in your name? Do you think it actually defines you in a way, or is it simply a title, a word someone says to understand that you are who they're addressing, or referring to?
I have lots of names. I like them all. So it's been bugging me these last few names. Like, for example:
Let's say that I meet two people on a given day. I meet the first person, introduce myself as Billy. A few minutes later, I meet the second person, introduce myself as James.
From there on out, the three of us spend the remainder of the day together and essentially share the same experiences with each other. For sake of arguement, we'll assume that either of the two hypothetical people I'm with would relate to me in as similar a way as possible.
Could the name they know me by affect their impression of me in a significant way? An alchemist would say yes, even certainly yes. And that's the answer I was happy with, up until recently. And now that my mind is begging the question, I can't say I'm as certain anymore.

My birth name is Irina Zoe Z------. Zoe was going to be my first name, but my parents changed their minds at the last minute, as they were worrried that I wouldn't have enough charisma to pull off the 2 Zs. (Ha. I sure showed them.)
The other day, I told a professor of mine about it, because she said I didn't look like an Irina. She said Zoe fit much better. And I happen to agree with her. But why is that? What is it about me that makes me more a Zoe and less an Irina? Do I want to be a Zoe instead of Irina? What's that about?
I don't know. But it's certainly an interesting thing to think about.
Jimmy is a sort of young name; gives the impression to me of something childish.
James is much older; more matured.
So the way they learn who you are can be totally differed just by this. And they might expect certain things of you.
blah.. i don't know where i'm going with this. but HI! how are you? <3
