Walking does have its advantages. In Minneapolis, the advantage is mainly that when snow comes, driving becomes some strange foreign language.
And not like even a high school foreign language, no. But rather, it's the language that the drivers can identify by hearing, and recognise on paper, but no one can write it, let alone speak with affluence.
They're all driving around in their between-one-and-two-ton death machines. Some are completely ignorant, while others don't dare to venture past 15mph.
But the snow fall is beautiful if you take time to enjoy it. Especially evenings like these, when it's warm enough to walk in and not worry too much about the weather and more about being hit by suburbanites.
Each individual flake lives a life of its own, and if you were watching from overhead, the crystals formulated and falling would look almost the same as the scattered car lights driving back to their destinations.
