Well now I'm fucked. My girls birthday is comming up and we had it all planned out. I bought tickets to see Esthero on concert, but now the show has been cancelled! I have the god damn ticket right here in front of me, but now they are useless. What am I to do? She really wanted to see this show and is very upset. Now even if I think of something, it will only be second best. I want to see her happy and excited on her birthday. She deserves it. Any ideas?

Just a thought. Tell her on that day (b-day) you will do anything with her that she wants, and live up to it. Stuff for bathing, bubble bath and fancy soaps tend to go over well. Or plan something that she likes that you don't, and thus don't often do. A play, whatever...and pretend like you having a good time.
If all else fails, send her to a day spa for the full treatment. Maybe you could find a cd of the band you can't go see, or better yet if you could find some rare tracks of theirs on a download site...or find the phone # of an old friend of hers and arrange for them to call on her b-day.
