So at my last firefighters meeting, the chief mentions he will be doing the 9-11 Memorial stair climb. Asks if anyone else wants to do it. Right away four others stepped up. The Captain sitting next to me said i should do it too. Of course I agreed to it! This is one of the reasons I joined up. To get out and try new things and meet new people.
Well the memorial stair climb is like 110 stories in full turn out gear (roughly 33lbs). Im going to die! lol
So to help train for this I am now using the stair climber at work. Plus Ive been walking/joking 3-4 miles a night in a hoodie with an added 10lbs of weights to my feet and wrists. With this heat wave In WI, I am sure working up a sweat!
Still nervous, but I have some time to prepare! Hopefully I can loose some more weight too!

Wow! That's awesome!! I'd love to do an event! I checked the website, but to my amazement, there is no event for NY?!?! Kinda crazy. Kudos to you for doing it! Good luck with the training, I can only imagine what it must feel like with added weight and 100 degree heat. I'm on the stairmaster and treadmill every morning, I should add ankle weights to my routine. Thanks man!
trills:
Wow, that's some feat (aiming high! ) Good luck!
