Enjoying one of my rare days off today
Nothing much to write about really. Every day is pretty much the same. I stand post, I check ID's, I spend a lot of time looking at the desert. When things happen (and they sometimes do) then that's not a good thing. 77 days left on my contract then I'm headed home.
I've moved up the closing on my house. I should be finalizing everything on January 21st now. I'll be happy to put that behind me. I hope to spend at least a month at home before going to my next contract.
Lot's of work to do while I'm home. I'm going to tear out the wood floor in my workshop and pour a concrete floor. I also need to clear part of my property. I'll take advantage of that to start laying in firewood for next winter. I need to start working on putting together my raised beds and deer fencing. Also get my compost pile going, build a chicken coop, and a run-in shelter for my horse. Will start on cross fencing my place. The goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible
Two more years I think and I can stop making these trips to the middle east
