so i was thinking today.....here we are christmas is done, people are now making their plans for new year's eve. out with one year, in with a whole new year. what will the new year hold for me?? don't know...maybe love, maybe money, maybe a new job, maybe new friends, maybe become better friends with people i have recently met. i guess we will have to see. i know one thing though...we all need to take a minute, and look around at we do have, and be thankful. why??? as some of you know i work in a hospital, specifically i work security in the emergency room. the christmas holiday was not happy for everyone; a family lost their sixteen month old daughter to sudden illness, a grandfather accidently ran over his nine year old grandaughter while moving his dump truck, a mom whose daughter is serving time in prison sat and watched her twenty five year old daughter be placed on life support after a suicide attempt. another family lost their eighty-something year old grandmother on christmas day, while two others came to the er after suicide attempts. and those are just a few in the past several days.....please everyone, tell those you love that you love them, if you have a friend that you love and have not spoken to in awhile call them, if you know someone having problems because of the holidays, see what help you bring them, if you talk to someone online and you think they are pretty cool, tell them. life is very unpredictable, we don't know why, try your best to make everyday count, and try your best to let those you care about know how much you care. as far as new year's eve goes, i will be in the emergency room, working, the rest of you please be safe. lots of love, the big man.
