so you always hear the saying that one can't buy happiness.....true, for the most part, i agree. but maybe, just maybe one can buy a little bit of short term goodness. now, i am not talking about drink or drugs, i am not a part of that scene these days. no, i am talking about simple things like trying a new restaurant, and having food so good i just wanted to sit there for the rest of the day, drinking coffee and watching people walk by. or how about finding a sale on shoes, when i need a new pair of shoes??? my good old tennis shoes i wear on my days off had seen better days, i stopped at the mall on a whim, and found a pair i liked for not very much cash. then, after picking up my dry cleaning i went to another favorite restaurant for the sole purpose of having dessert. ever do that??? just go somewhere for dessert? try it, try it with a friend even better, the two of you can order two separate desserts and share. after my dessert happiness i thought i would stop by my favorite record store to what's up. i got the new slipknot album, on sale!!!! thank you very much... i haven't listened to it yet, i'll let you know what i think. i wanted to buy the new metallica, they were out.. and finally i get home, log onto sg, and have email from a dear friend. if it was dark outside, i would probably go to bed, because in darryl land, today, has been a very rare... good day. so maybe one still can't buy happiness, but maybe once in awhile we stop and recognize some of the little things that make us happy, and smile.
