It would apear that I am soon to become a father. This consequently means that somewhere, sometime, there is a girl that will go through all that the process that childbirth entails. Some would assume that, in the true style of Hollywood justice, I should at some point experience a form of comeuppance for 'inflicting' such horrors upon the aforementioned girl. Sadly for some, albeit definitely not for me, this is not American cinema.
Instead, I have been considering the concept of 'optional payback' in the form of personal body scarification. Give a fuck? Then read on...
I am a fan of the complex, brutal and excellent series of Saw films. Whatever opinion you have of these films is of no importance or worth whatsoever. What is important and worthwhile is the point I am making. Whether you understand is down to you and you only.
The intention is to appoint myself a jigsaw piece removal via scarification as repayment for my girlfriend giving birth to my baby. Although the two painful experiences are not comparable, I feel it's the least I could possibly do. It's not exactly an eye for an eye act, but to me it just feels like something that I can do in 'return'.
As the male of the species, I am apparantly the useless third wheel. Therefore, for some reason, I feel compelled to do this. It won't help, I think my girlfriend will hate it and it might all go terribly wrong.
One jigsaw-sized piece of flesh cut from my upper right back. That's the plan. It makes perfect sense. Why not?
"The jigsaw piece that I cut from my subjects was only ever meant to be a symbol that that subject was missing something. A vital piece of the human puzzle. The survival instinct." - John Kramer (referred to as 'Jigsaw' by characters only), Saw II.
