It's Friday, and I'm in for a busy weekend.
First, there's a party tonight that I don't really want to go to. It's not because I don't like the people who are going to be there, because I like (most) of them. It's because there's a cover charge. Now, I don't want to sound like a cheap bastard, but I find it hard to go to a party that a husband is throwing for his wife, and then have to pay a cover charge for hors d'oeuvres and an open bar. I shouldn't be eating all that crap, and I don't drink. So, what do I get out of this? Nothing, so why should I pay for other people to eat and drink? And it's not like it's a $5 or $10 cover. It's way more than that, and if he doesn't get enough heads, he'll ask for more money.
Second, I'm teaching tomorrow morning from 9 AM to 12 PM. I have to leave my house at 7 AM to get there for 9. Then, It'll be another 2 hours till I get home. So, I will be in my car for 4 hours to teach for 3.
Finally, tomorrow night, I'll be hanging out with a different group of friends. The plan is for a nice sit-down dinner at one of their homes. I'll be making the antipasto. I'm looking forward to that because one friend was temporarily transferred to Chicago for his job, and he's in town for his girlfriend's sister's wedding (which is tonight).
Nothing on Sunday, but I usually try to plan it that way. Besides, I'll probably need Sunday off to recover from Saturday!

OK, too late. but: don't go to the party. You'll hate it if you do.
