That day...
Saying those two words together, brings sorrow to my eyes;
The spirits of those who were lost on that day;
They tumbled, became fallen, burned or buried;
Regardless what they were, they were family to all Americans, on that day...
...That day...
That unexpected day of fury;
That day of shock;
That day of helplessness; No one expected this day to be that day, if ever...
That day said aloud corrupts the goodness in my heart;
That day clouds my judgement with pure rage;
That day feigns my blissful feeling of glee;
The resentment of not knowing just what to feel from that day...
....That day...
That day of feeling fear;
That day of misunderstood confusion;
That day the world came crashing in on us;
That day the shape of two towers turned to dust;
....That day...is now this day
This day need not be the sorrow that we feel;
This day is of remembrance;
This day is to celebrate the souls that cannot speak for themselves;
This day we are reborn united;
This day is for continuing our saga;
This day we show we are proud;
This day those who suffered will not go forgotten;
No one will break our glory no matter if...that day...should ever happen again...
For now it is this day and nothing more...
We will always remember 9/11/2001...
