Well, this may be a little pre-emptive, but I'm BACK! I get back to civilization on Sunday, after spending basically the beginning of June through the end of October in the middle of nowhere in northwestern BC. I had a 3-week break in September where I headed back Ottawa for weddings and such, and spent some small time at home in Edmonton.
It was a crazy summer, filled with lots of drill core logging and much, much mapping. The first month was spent out hiking around the mountains surrounding camp, and that was definitely the highlight. Fit in quite a bit of chopper work, and basically had a blast. It'll be good to be back in civilization for a bit though!
One of the days on traverse, we took a chopper to the next valley over and hiked back into camp mapping along the way. Where were hiking, there were entire hills of fireweed!

The scenery was unbelievable:

Anyways, it's a little hard to fit 5 months into a wee little blog post, and I kinda messed up the pictures on the first try, but that's the gyst of it. All that work is going into my Masters' thesis, including two maps, one plan map, and over 400 rock samples. Now comes the hard part! The writing! Yikes!

Hey you wanna know where the name "Jennie Bomb" came from? I didn't make it up! There's this all female rock/punk band from Sweden called Sahara Hotnights and they have an album called Jennie Bomb.... I thought it was sweet (and the band is sweet too) so I use that name. Maybe see ya at a show sometime?
