It's days like today that make me question my chosen vocation. 10 hours of machining up dormer windows at 1/300 scale. Sounds boring? It bloody is
Imagine, if you will, having to make thirty-odd tiny windows about 5mm x 6mm in size, complete with roof overhang, frames, the lot. God.
But then, as was discussed at work today, do most any job for long enough and there'll be times when you just hate it. The bonuses generally outweigh the downs, I must admit, and it's rarely the same job two days running. Like, hey, tomorrow I'm making garages, whoop whoop
Today's audial pleasure was provided by Spike Milligan's war memoirs, some of the most consistently funny stuff ever written, and when read by the great man himself, clearly enjoying it just as much to judge by his giggling, you can't improve things much. Second half tomorrow gives us summats to look forward to ...
The only real downside to the day was having to discipline one of the guys a second time for creative time sheet work. Like it wasn't enough we took him to see the Matrix monday and bought him dinner and drinks, he had to charge the time out at his normal hourly rate
