Well my first shift as a waitress went as well as could be expected. It was hard work of course, but I enjoyed it overall. I broke only one glass, got yelled at by my manager only once (although it was more directed at the guy training me), and my feet and legs and back hurt so bad that I can't sleep. Oh, and I made a whopping $30 for 7 hours of work. Of course, I wasn't actually waiting tables yet, just running food and other odds and ends like laundry, bussing, etc. So it was up to the generousity of the other waitstaff to tip me anything. Seriously though, I do like the job. The people I work with are really nice (except the manager - she's a bit of a bitch, but nothing I can't handle. She likes me anyway, and told me at the end of the night that I did really well, which totally surprised me). It seems like a good place to work as far as tips go - busy and expensive. Of course we had a party of 50 (yes FIFTY) on my first night. Nothing like jumping right in.
My poor husband on the other hand did not enjoy his new job of babysitter.
This was the first time he'd been left to watch the baby for that long at once without my help. Apparently she threw a 3 hour tantrum and only wanted mommy. It's nice to be loved, but I sure hope she gets over this soon. For poor daddy's sake!
