Does God Exist?
The central spiritual question is: Does God exist?
Jesus says yes. Buddha says maybe. Nietzsche says God is dead.
Osho went along with Buddha抯 agnosticism and used Nietzsche's statement to decondition seekers from the paternalistic God of monotheistic religions.
Either existence is aware of itself and that awareness is God, or existence is aware of itself only in enlightened humans and they are the highest consciousness in the Whole. These messages assert that God exists as transcendental awareness of existence and non-existence. And the logic of advaita totally agrees.
Advaita rests on the enlightened experience of conscious oneness that is common to all buddhas.
Advaita understands that consciousness is all there is, as the void of non-existence and all the multiplicity of life, simultaneously. The universe has a beginning and therefore an end. Only consciousness is eternal. The universe appears out of the void of consciousness. Therefore the void must have the power and intelligence to design, create and sustain the universe. That is the definition of God.
Existence consists of the universe, plus the second, third, fourth and fifth realms or bodies of God.
None of these realms is eternal. They are created along with the universe and disappear with it, back to the void, when existence takes a rest. The sixth body of pure awareness is the bridge between existence and the eternal void of the seventh body.
Understanding all this helps with surrender. You can trust the infinite power and intelligence of the void to get it right, including your very special life and destiny. This understanding helps to clarify pantheistic thinking such as 慹xistence is eternal and self-created?and 憃nly buddhas are aware of consciousness?
So yes, God does exist as eternal intelligent awareness with the capacity to create, sustain and finally destroy the universe. He is simultaneously all that exists and the mysterious transcendental source of existence. He is the one monistic power animating the entire cosmos and all non-material realms. He is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient.
This means that rocks, apes, people and buddhas are all created from the same unified consciousness of the void. But rocks and apes can never know their deeper nature. It is the soul that allows humans to be aware of their oneness with the mystery of divine consciousness.Yet even buddhas cannot know most of God抯 infinite power and intelligence. God is in you, around you and ever-present everywhere. He is also That, the unknowable mystery of the beyond with the capacity to create and destroy existence.
Yet He is, of course, really an impersonal It. And for some reason, It is using me to write these messages.
