As many of you know I have been involved with Roller Derby over the past 8 or 9 months. One of our league's goals is to get involved with other non-profits organizations outside of our own and do what we can to support other nonprofits organizations. One of the things we decided to do was Komen Orange County Race for the Cure on September 26, 2010 to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Any help you can give would be tremendously helpful, even $5. In addition, our league is going to try to match all the funds we raise to donate to this cause.
I don't think I need to go in to how devastating breast cancer is, as many of you know, and some have been affected first-hand.
Our league is also making t-shirts that we will all wear to the race, the front will have a modified team logo with the pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness. The back of the t-shirts will list names of those who have been affected by breast cancer, these t-shirts will be a memorial and/or celebration of survival. If any of you are interested in getting the name of a friend or family member who has been affected by breast cancer placed on the t-shirt, we are asking for a small donation that will be passed on to Susan G Komen for the Cure, please email me if you are interested, and I can give you the additional details, including where to send payment. We can also have additional T-shirts made for you.
Thank you all for your time!

Having a strong female community around you sounds incredible. To build those ties in a relatively short amount of time is really powerful. Go all of you!
