Had an awesome Opening Reception at Memento Mori Gallery in Lakewood, CO, last night.
My art was placed at the front of the Gallery, directly under the show's title π€© That also happened at my first art show last month, they placed my piece front and center of the entrance. It was the first and last one you saw at the show. Now that it's happened my first two times, I'm likely gonna be chasing that little high forever. Nobody puts Baby in the corner, lol!
I also felt like I found my "Gallery Home" at MMG, last night. There were so many little coincidences. Like, my art piece was about Venus, and the other 2 pieces designed by the owner were about Artemis and Medusa, and there was some Hecate art by a Gallery member. On the other side of the Gallery was art of OG SuicideGirls from the 00's. I just felt like I was on the same frequency as this space, so I'm excited to continue making more art for their future shows. September's show is themed around Superstitions, October's theme is Skull & Bones, and December is a Krampus themed show π
And of course I had to commemorate my first Gallery entry and first First Friday as an artist with a tattoo! This was flash by Jesse Neumann from the gallery's figure drawing nights. The model in this drawing is a local burlesque dancer, Alabaster. I've decided my left arm is going to be my black & white "Scrapbook" sleeve. I've only had my Golden Birthday Candle tattoo on that arm for 9 years, but I'm making a point to manifest tattoo money now. Let's see how fast I manage to fill it up π
My one of one "Venus" sleeve art (12"x24") is for sale through the gallery, if anyone is interested ππ
