I'm wracking up stories from my job. Not just silly stories of the photo tech telling me that the 7 Up delivery guy is asking if I'm married or not.
I met a lady today needing to find face masks because she started chemo and was going on a flight soon. "Oh really?" "Yes." She joked, "Do you like my wig?" It looked so good that I couldn't even tell, she told me she started wearing it this week. I could tell that this was all new to her, I wanted to tell her so much. I wanted to tell her about how both my grandmothers wore wigs or hats with hair pieces and everyone loved them and couldn't tell. I wanted to tell her that she's still a woman even without hair. But I went on a thing about how real it looked and after my grandmother's cancer went away she continued to wear one because it was easier to take care of and saved her money. I wanted to tell her so much. About how I've worn wigs, I wanted to swap wig stories. I wanted to tell her to be careful. I wanted to tell her she isn't alone, I can relate. But these things don't happen when you're in the middle of a busy pharmacy and you're just a service clerk. But I did tell her to definitely wear the masks during her flight and I looked into her eyes and told her that I would be thinking of her. She said I was sweet. I hope she is a repeat customer.
