I've been using the Fan-Art group for a while now to help keep me practised in my sketching and experimenting (what could be better to draw?). But it turned out there's a couple of sketches i wouldn't mind painting up. Partly because, again it's great practice, there's no pressure, and when i look at them i cant help but see all the colours/possibilities staring out at me... Drives me nuts.
So, i'm starting with Marlene. I guess it has the most to gain from being painted and is probably (again i'm guessing) the hardest for other's to look at and see the finished product... Same for me actually. I'd say it's the one i'm most excited to see "evolve" into whatever the hell it will be. So that's what i'm going to attempt to share here. An evolution of a painting, for better or worse. It's what i love most about creating art. The problem solving of starting with a blank sheet of paper, an idea, and then having to constantly revise and reassess the work until you/I usually end up with something totally different then i imagined in the beginning... Maybe i'm doing it wrong?
Anyway here's a progress photo after about an hour or so of laying down some watercolour. (completely different colours then i was imagining. Not great at mixing colours!! ...or i subconsciously mix the RIGHT wrong colours )
