Had an interesting evening last night. I had my daughter & my guy stopped by. She was so excited to see him. She adores him. Altho when she asked me if he was my bestest friend & said yes & he is my boyfriend. Her response: "Ewwwwwwwwww" LOL
But. I put her to bed & we were cuddling on the bed together. I got cold & so we snuggled up under the covers. G kept getting out of bed as usual...maybe more than usual...cuz she knew the guy was over. But she saw us all snuggled up under the covers & she had an interesting look on her face. She asked if we were sleeping & i said "no honey we were just snuggling & mommy got cold so R was just warming me up".
She accepted it & went to bed. In the morning when she saw he wasn't here she asked me where he was. I said that he had to go home & he left last night. "awe! but he was sleeping in your bed?" "No honey he wasn't sleeping" (although we did actually both doze off for a few min & had the most wonderful nap) "he was just warming mommy up cuz mommy was cold & he was warm & toasty". She touches my arm & says "you ARE warm & toasty now!" and grins at me. But she still looked mighty pissed off that he didn't spend the night. LOL. Granted G pretty much loves everyone. But the way she is around R just makes it all feel so perfect. No one could ever replace her daddy, and i would never attempt to. the Ex is a great dad & adores her. But it was nice having that "family" unit. Being a single parent blows. No way around it. It was better than the alternative, but i hate being the only "adult". lol
G scares me a lil bit. She seems so much older than 5 sometimes. Like she is intellectually almost 7, but maturity wise 5. lol Altho she really is a GREAT kid.
Even tho we were still dealing with pull-ups, 2yo was such a great age. everyone talks about terrible 2's, but that didn't really start til 3yo. She was a doll at 2. Cute & funny & toddling around. no tantrums, no talk-back, very little running away. She didn't understand much so we didn't have to spell things out to each other or whisper. Now it seems like she hears & understands everything. Worse than my mother. LOL
