As far as what's going on in my life right now, it's kindo the same ol' same ol'. Er, at least it's pretty much what everyone would expect. I'm not getting much sleep because Danger girl keeps me up, as all newborns do, and as expected. She'll sleep for maybe two hours after she is fed and burped, and she's on a 4hr schedule. Sometimes she'll sleep for up to 6hrs at night though. Fortunately, I'm actually doing a lot better with it than I expected.
Financially, I'm in a horrible horrible state. I'm something like $10k in the hole and that's with me making sure that I never ever went into debt. For most people this might not be anything all that noteworthy, most might think "hey, you do what you gotta do" but for me, this is a huge massive thing. It's virtually impossible for me to be happy when I'm in debt. Or even in a good mood. It's one of the most uncomfortable things that I can feel. Fortunately we've been able to make sure we have the absolute crucial essentials such as rent, power, food, and gas in the car. So at least we haven't had crucial injury to the insult.
The car (yea I've only got one that runs) is not in as good a state as I was hoping. Angie got cut off by some dude on the freeway and in avoiding him she crashed into the center divider on the freeway. The jar was pretty major as far as the car is concerned. No where near what'd be needed to injure Angie, but a hard jar on the drivers side none the less. It ended up bending the whole front end almost two inches over which bent the hood and fenders n everything. The car still works, but it looks really ghetto now like it's been crashed. Fortunately It'll be all registered and will be all legal within a few hours from my posting this. Probably by the time you read this. Having a car in southern California, by the way, is utterly essential. More so than in other places. That's why I mention it so much. It's virtually impossible to live without one, especially if you have a baby. While I can ride my bike to work, I can't take Danger girl with me on it yet.
I've been wanting to build a submarine for a while. A small one similar to the pedal powered ones, but powered by electric scooter motors. I figure with 2hp there you can go like 3 times the speed that a pedal powered sub can go (provided it's designed right, which wouldn't be a problem with me) which would make it go like 12kts and with two car batteries, man that thing would go for like 18hrs. Much longer than the tanks would last. Of course, all you need is a lil motorcycle engine hooked up to a generator and a high pressure air pump to recharge the air tanks and you could go pretty much indefinitely. It sure would be fun to have one, and I bet I could build one for less than $500. Oh if only I had $500.
