Hm. Looking through the "what's related" of the video posted in my previous journal I didn't see any Real Men Of Genius videos, just a bunch of dudes in thongs. That's not really what I meant when I said that I'd be looking through the what's related. I know that comments are very little indication of who's actually viewed your journal entry, but only one er two people commented on it and I can't help but worry that they're the only ones who actually watched the video. If you haven't seen it, be sure and click back an entry and check it out. Even though it's not something that I made, if you've talked to me for any length of time it's surely going to be something that you're going to get a kick out of.
I'm all moved into my new apartment now. It's only a few miles from my work so now I'll be able to ride a bike back n forth. That should help a shit-ton to put my body back in shape and just get me back to the cheery beppo that you all used to know and love.
Well, when I say I'm all moved in, I mean that I've got all the furniture in there. What little furniture I do have, anyway. Just the desks, an old water bed (for Angie, I always sleep on the floor), a love seat that smells way the hell too much like dog pee, and of course Lisa's Ass.
Angie flew back to Denver on Monday. She's been gone for just under a week and I miss her like fucking crazy. It's no help that right now we're on opposing schedules. That's sure to be one of the more difficult parts of our relationship once we're all settled, that I have an ever-moving schedule, waking up about a half hour later each day. That combined with my working nonstop, I expect her to feel pretty much the same way she does now with her being in Colorado for about 20-50% of the time. I'm sure we'll manage though
This coming weekend is the Disney meet. This has pretty much become the event of the year for me so I'm of course pretty excited about it. Usually I've had tons of funds available to make sure that everything goes perfectly smooth but this time, having just dumped a big load of cash getting that apartment (plus I've been fairly low on cash to begin with), I'm gonna have a pretty limited affect on making sure that everything goes according to plan this time around.
In fact my once great Mobile Bar(tm) is hardly all that great anymore. And I don't have the funds to resupply it. At it's hight, it was about $1500 worth of liquor, mixers, and utensils. But this time around it'll be closer to like around $500. For those who were at the last Disney meet, it was just under $1000 worth. We tackled about 40% of it (mostly me (I also had a $200 bar tab.))
This also marks right around a year that I've been focusing on and making not drinking a priority. A turning point was at last years Disney meet. The day after the meet & greet, I woke up expecting what was supposed to be one of the most brutal hangovers of my life. I sat up and thought to myself "Dude, I feel almost exactly the same as I did yesterday." It wasn't because I'd planned exceptionally well, it was because I'd been that fuckin' drunk the day before. And the day before that. And the month before that. I thought to myself "Ok, dude. You can't live like this. No person's body is designed to take that much toxicity on such a regular basis.
It took me a little time to actually make use of my minimal drinking regime, but by February, I was drink free and, with a very few exceptions, have been ever since. Surprisingly, I don't feel much different.
