You can view some pics from my shoot at the end of this entry. So, one shoot was cancelled but I managed to book a last minute replacement who did an awesome job. Natalia did beautifully too, as always. These shoots hail a new era for my videos, I'm trying to pull off more structured and edited video productions as opposed the shaky gonzo style that was embodied throughout my first video shoot last month. I think I'm on to it, I've had a shot list that I worked out in detail once I arrived at the apartment, rather than just relying on 'winging it,' I'm confident I got the majority of what I wanted, if not all, and perhaps some spontaneous extras too.
From what I've seen of the video so far, it's remarkably steady and contains at least 50 minutes of usable HD footage and a further 30 minutes of bloopers and dodgy experimental angles that just don't work but that were worth a try. I will cut some stuff together when my week frees up.
The pictures are great, a few iffy angles and some crappy lit ones - but by far my best shoot in regards to lighting, my new lens excelled in every way bettering all expectations i had and affording me some awesomely rude detail shots. I'm slowly getting there and earning experience and confidence along the way - i still maintain learning Photography through college or another institution would take longer and not necessarily be any more beneficial. As i mentioned briefly, my lighting is still providing me with some problem areas on my images, these problems are now present in the minority rather than the majority of my photos, a vast improvement, but there are still good photos being wasted by over and under lighting a shot.
To help me master my lighting and to be educated on how it works and interacts with a camera and also how to adapt to different poses, angles and the like i have booked myself on a photography tutorial with a successful, renowned and awesome photographer, Hywell Phillips who runs, maintains and shoots for his own pay site; RestrainedElegance. This takes place in November and I can't wait for it.
