What have I been up to lately?
This week was the first public shoot session for The Face We Live In. While it was great to have people come down and participate in the project quite a few people who has personally told me that they were attending failed to show up, which i found frankly disappointing and in a few cases slightly insulting. However despite this I got some great photographs for the project and met some new faces, all of whom were lovely friendly and bubbly people.
Lesson to take from the first session:
1. Advertise Constantly (even if you are plugging it everyday and feel like you may be annoying the shit out of people)
2. dont use the studio again (i think some people may have been put off by the travel requirement)
3. Run it on the street.
4. Don't be afraid to ask favours
While it feels like a slight set back I feel glad I tried and am far from giving up. In fact its only made me more determined to make it a success.
I am currently running a $150 Model Portfolio Shoot deal for the length of March to help fund the project. I have already got a few bookings on this which is fantastic.
The first shoot was yesterday at Beaumauris Beach in WA. While personally not a fan of shooting at the beach (water, sand and blinding light) we got some great shots and i got sand and water all through my pants :P
Looking forward to being back at one of my usual haunts tomorrow night after taking last weeks gig off to be at my sister's wedding.
And thats pretty much it.
