So i thought I would post a blog about what Iv been up to recently.
I mentioned in a previous blog that I was going to be completely swamped with photography work and I am literally only just now 2 weeks later finishing up.
Ill try and add a photo for each event as well :)
9th: Wednesday - Nightclub
Typical club gig at my residence (The Leederville) lots of fun people and lovely lighting. Managed to snap this (which i absolutely love). Club lighting and Speedlight combined perfectly. :)
Finished up at about 7am (as i have a 24hr turn around for Wednesdays)
Slept for a few hours and then dragged myself back out of bed for;
10th: Thursday - Comedy Panel
After a few slow hours of zombie like movement around the house/ eating (cereal not brains)/ showering all that jazz. I drove down to my old uni to feature in a Televised Comedy Panel - 'Let's Get Quizzical' which is hosted by my best friend Alasdair (film and radio student).
IF you have ever seen QI or Spicks and Specks it runs pretty similar that. This time round the theme was industry versus industry students where myself and a film critic faced off against radio and photography students. We lost. :P I swear my partner Julian (film critic) was the worlds worst film critic (he didn't
know what Pulp Fiction or Gladiator were). Regardless I had a great time and laughed alot.
I also nipped into the student supply store and nabbed myself a whole heap of 120mm Film for my ETRS Bronica (which i have been shooting on a lot recently).
11th: Friday
Pokemon Body paint!
I know that some people were quite interested in seeing how this turned out. I started around 1:30pm (they'd been painting the model since 10am)
Jess (our model) was lovely and very easy to work with. The Team all did a fantastic job with the body paint (although i would have liked to know beforehand that she wouldn't have any hair/MU done for the shoot, as that turned into a task and a half in post). Got some awesome shots and had a great time shooting, laughing and generally capturing the fun feel the artist was after. We even threw in a few generic Pokemon poses and had Pokemon songs playing in the background :).
Friday Night - Wild West Party
After the shoot (which finished at 4:30pm) I had to whip home, offload the images, charge batteries and scarf down some grub and then sprint out again.
Off to the Curtin Uni Wild West Party.
I was booked for the start of the night (which i did advise against) so it was pretty empty for most of my booking, not really filling up until well into the last 30minutes. Typical uni party once it got cranking however with lots of people falling over, dancing, laughing and generally running amok. I watched some guy in leopard print tights make out with somewhere near 10 different girls in the space of 15 minutes. Both impressed and disturbed honestly.
Got about 180 out of requested 200 images so not too bad considering the event was pretty dead.
Here is a snappy from the event :)
At this point im beinging to become worried about the amount of editing that is pilling up :/ Especially with all the images from my cousins wedding still to go.
12th - Saturday - Catwalk
Drove an hour out into the sticks to photograph the fashion Catwalk at Karragullen Country Fair for Bourne Events
Was an awesome day shooting with perfect lighting setup in the marquee (or however you spell it). Took most of the morning and most of the afternoon but got some amazing photographs for the company.
Saturday Night - Club
Back Leederville Again,
After that I have been literally editing non stop and going to my regular events. Ill post some more soon! :)
