So the past few days have been a bit of a blur.
Saturday i spent all day running from shoot to shoot. Got up at 8am for a 3 hour generic model shoot (girl just wanted some headshots and stock poses for her portfolio), raced back home at 11am to upload images, stuff down some lunch, switch batteries and head back out. Second shoot was a engagement shoot (booked by my friend as a surprise for the happy couple) got to shoot until 7:30pm so go all the beautiful light during magic hour with shots ranging from afternoon light and magic hour to well into the black of night. Drove home and ate some dinner while images went onto the harddrive, bolted down some nachoes, switched batteries again and out the door to shoot my nightclub gig until 12am. Got home at about 1am and just passed out into bed while the camera uploaded images.
Sunday I woke up at 11am and double checked all the images on the harddrive, all good. Repacked all my gear for a shoot out in the sticks (Pine plantation out in whoop whoop). Model arrived 30 minutes into her booking so had to crank the shoot out a bit faster. (for the life of me i dont understand why anyone would wear a stained shirt to be photographed in, especially when she'd been asking me to shoot and then changing her availability for months.) Compensated for outfit through angles etc, then quick wardrobe change. Second outfit was MUCH BETTER! beautiful flowing white summer dress. The dress worked absolutely brilliantly with all the dark and contrasting forest colours.
We probably spent more than double the amount of time shooting the second outfit. I will upload a few soon (i promise!)
Finished up at about 5pm and then 2 hour drive home in pouring rain (which came in about 5 minutes after we finished shooting thank god), swung through take out on the way and then collapsed in front of the television and promptly fell asleep during casino royale halfway through a burger.
And that was my weekend.
Today i got up at 3pm and almost fell back asleep during breakfast.
Trundled down the post office to send a care package to my friend up north. Sent him some anzacs, rocky road as well as a few good novels and a small half size bottle of whiskey. Hopefully it brings him a smile because the lady in the post office was a total bitch.
Benji out.
