So this weekend has been interesting.
At work on saturday night I was given free tickets to Rockit (local festival) by the venue manager for doing such a sweet job taking photos! Was an awesome day!
Rolled up to drive through at 9:30am with my bestie and got greasey take out fuel for the day. Got on the train and killed an hour travelling to the northern suburbs, a land of strange past times and rampant teenage pregnancies.
Showed up just in time to see San Cisco perform which was brilliant! Great band, and strangely the drummer when to school with my sister.
Killed some time between acts, ate waaaaaay too much food and hung out in the Jack Daniel's 'White Rabbit Saloon' which was a tent with a wooden saloon style entrance (im talking the whole shibang, swinging front door, porch, railings etc)
Ran into a friend from uni and spent the rest of the day hanging out with her as she had come alone. Went and checked out a band called Emperors who were actually really good. bit like Blink 182 meet The Offspring.
More food, so much food:
Burgers
Hotdogs
Chips
Pizza
And Heaps of Jacks!
John Butler Trio performed and let us all down with a 20 minute political tirade. FFS we came to hear you play not plug your political crap. Birds Of Tokyo put on a great light show, pity half the music got drowned out though. But still! pretty lights!
Best of all though! THE BLACK KEYS! No denying i got my serious dance on for that Loooooove the black keys!
It managed to rain twice during the festival so the day alternated between scorching heat and freezing rain all about changing it up right?
And then on the way home me and my bestie got VIP bus service! Only two ppl on the bus! Win!
And then a homeless guy tried to sleep on me on the train :/ not win :/
On the Home front iv had heaps of emails from people who want to work with me on photography gigs Few unreasonable expectation from people though. Like a hairstylist i worked with who wanted me to edit the Makeup...uh sorry..thats the MUA's call not yours...also expected me to achieve the same result from SUPER sunny day photos as those from a beautifully overcast and slightly rainy day. Sometimes i jsut want to shake ppl.
But other than that small irritation i have been having a fantastic weekend! Cant wait to photograph the halloween party on wednesday!
