Quote of the moment: "Go back far enough and a germ gets blaimed for splitting in two." - Saul Tigh, BSG
I went to a singles thing last night. One question I got asked a couple of times 'did you come with a friend?' who ever asked always thought it would be easier to come with friend(s). I thought it would be harder, 'Hey buddy I've failed at interpersonal relationships and meeting people to have them with for years. Want to swing by this singles thing the radio station is putting on?'
Tried speed dating. It would have been nice if the area was a little quieter, I mean yes eight 'couples' were talking at the same time but the club DJ could have stopped rattling the windows with the beat. Talked to a nice 1/4 spanish woman I met the first round. The other annoying thing, besides the fact I was the only one who stopped when Sara P's boy toy blew the whisle, was all the dates were at tall two person tables with super hugh table clothes that would hold you in place. Good thing no one had food and moved when the whisle blew.
The second round I got to talk to the cutest girl in the club bought her a drink after and had a little chat before she decided to find her friends again. Gave her my number and saw her enter it on her phone.
So now I wonder, is that call her? I'll have that irrational hope for as long as I have the same phone number. Is there any chance of her talking to me again or did she just stick it out long enought to not feel bad about the free drink. Her friends talked her into coming, her friends talk her into clubbing, will they manage to talk her into calling. Or will they need to? Did she head off to the safety of her room mate, when the scary world bought her a drink?
oh and Sara P remembered me
